		<description><![CDATA[Wow, spss - I haven&#039;t used that since undergrad, and I think I&#039;d be hard-pressed to help anyone with it now.

Academic libraries have probably far more installed software than public libraries, but we &lt;em&gt;definitely&lt;/em&gt; need to be able to help people with whatever is on our public computers.  Web-based software is a bit more hit or miss, but stll: if we can&#039;t help the patron, then who will?  And if we&#039;re not helping patrons, then what are we doing?]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I helped someone this morning with SPSS.  Thank goodness she only had one data set and just needed to find mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and range.  We monkeyed around a little and figured it out.  I get a lot of tech questions.  You gotta be ready for anything.  :)]]></description>
