My goal is to get these records into our catalog, so that there is just one resource patrons need to use to find information.  However, if that proves difficult (or inadequate), I will probably do something like you suggest - a web database via sql.  But this is one of those lower-priority projects, so it might be months before we make any progress.</description>

Forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know but, regarding Note 4, from a single Excel spreadsheet to an Access database is an easy step. From there it depends on your web server whether you port to MySQL and PHP or leave it in Acess and write some ASP code. An alternative, of course, is to incorporate the information into your existing ILS.  The Reference staff here is looking at a similar task with our obituary database, so I will be interested to see what you decide to do. (For me, personally, it will be more fun to go the MySQL/PHP route, but the Ref Staff will make its decision based on other factors ;-)</description>
