Depending on how cold the house felt, I alternated between dripping and running, because I didn’t want to take a chance. The coldest I ever saw the thermostat was 34 degrees, so maybe I was just lucky all around. Hopefully this won’t happen after winter really sets in.

My only addition would be this: when they say “dripping,” they may actually mean “running.” I left a faucet dripping in a place I was living a few years back and ended up with no water for a week.
